Each August, Rock Creek participates in the Great Place to Work Survey. This is a time when staff can be open and honest about their feedback. A third party collects the data, ensuring it remains truly anonymous. It is so important for us to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly to know what we can work on to truly make our community a great place to work.
As the Business Office Director, I’m committed to consistently promoting employee appreciation by recognizing our hard-working team members. One of my favorite aspects of the role is coming up with unique, creative follow-ups for our staff. A highlight was our Employee Appreciation Day, where I treated everyone to a coffee bar, gifts, and a fun scavenger hunt. The day ended with three lucky employees getting the chance to put a pie in the face of a department head of their choice—a memorable way to celebrate and show our appreciation!
We believe that when done right, making work a fun place creates a workplace culture where people thrive. This approach promotes retention and makes us a great place to work. In turn, it also makes us a great place to live.
