There is no doubt that events and celebrations pull people together. Here at Rock Creek Senior Living, we believe Halloween is a perfect time to build up our team and encourage workplace camaraderie. It helps create traditions, provides opportunities for intergenerational fun, and builds positive morale within the team. Plus, it’s a great holiday to let the team break loose and plan some seasonal fun!
This year, our team will have staff partner with a resident and do a door decorating contest. In addition, we are doing a trunk-or-treat for the community around us. Rock Creek residents will come help pass out candy from the trunks of the decorated cars. When we plan things with our residents and the surrounding community this builds bonds, letting people know a little more about Rock Creek. We have encouraged our own team to bring their families to make this a time for family bonding in a fun atmosphere. Doing a trunk-or-treat also helps our residents remember the times they use to go trick-or-treating. They can reminisce by sharing stories with us about what they dressed up as and what their favorite part about Halloween was when they were younger.
Traditions like this are important because they help bring the community closer together. Traditions help encourage team building by partnering with people throughout our community. When we all become closer to each other in a positive way this not only improves people’s emotions, but also the culture of the community.
Celebrating Halloween at work can be a great opportunity to have fun while team building and improving company culture. As the Business Office Director, I love having these built-in opportunities to have fun while growing together as a team!
