Rock Creek Senior Living Recognizes National Assisted Living Week

Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® recognizes the role of assisted living in America while providing a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to celebrate the individuals they serve while simultaneously educating members of the public about what assisted living truly looks like.

This year, Rock Creek Senior Living is celebrating the 2022 theme of “joyful moments” from September 11^th to September 17^th by recognizing how each department plays a role in creating joy for our residents and staff members. ​​​​​​​​​​​ ​

Being the leader of a senior living community means everything to me. I love being able to support my residents; ensuring they receive the best care, while also helping my staff grow.

Our team creates joyful moments on a regular basis in our community. We often have residents reminisce, helping them discover new moments that create joy.

Laverna, a resident here at Rock Creek Senior Living, says the people and the friendship she has developed, and the plant room brings her the most joy. Her favorite memory, so far, is the prayer group and the joy the dog Sugar brings to the residents.

We plan to make National Assisted Living Week special in our community. Residents and staff who wish to tell their story are asked to post it on the board in our Bistro. We will also be doing new activities to create joyful moments.
